Meeting called to order by Greg Schwerman at Colton’s Steakhouse in Cabot, AR.

Alan Malone gave a run down of the USS Arkansas Commissioning Committee’s upcoming events:
Members of USS Arkansas crew will be in town from November 10th to the 12th. The crewmembers will be participating in Veteran’s day parades in Heber Springs and Jonesboro using the USS Razorback base parade float. They also plan to be in North Little Rock on the 12th.
A whiskey distillery plans to dedicate a blend for the USS Arkansas in Lowell, AR. Date to be determined.
Outlined commissioning committee’s function and asked for volunteers to participate.
Discussed fundraising activities such as merchandise sales on the committee’s website and at AIMM. Also discussed purchasing embroidered bunk curtains for the USS Arkansas from cities in Arkansas.
Motion was made to change the name of the Base Sailor of the Year award to the Carl Schmidt Sailor of the Year award by Alan Malone and Seconded by ??? Motion carried.
Binnacle list: Greg Schwerman gave an update on Jim Franks medical condition.
Next events:
Veteran’s Day ceremony at the Snook Memorial on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at 11:00 am.
Base Christmas party at AIMM on Saturday, December 13, 2025. Times to be announced.
