USS Razorback Base Meeting

February 28, 2026

Minutes

 

Meeting called to order by Greg Schwerman at 12:05pm.

Pledge of allegiance led by Greg Schwerman.

Lost boats for February led by Greg Schwerman and John Barr

Two new members introduced: Floyd and Tammy Stahl.

Benediction led by Joe Manning.

Minutes of last meeting presented by Alan Malone. Motion to accept by Greg Zonner, seconded by Ray Wewers

Eternal patrol announcement for Jim Franks and Jim Wright.

Treasury report presented by Pete Jilek. Base fund balance: $12133.33. Base adopted kids from Saline county, 4 families from donations received by Base Christmas party and sponsored them. Since email spoofing has occurred, treasurer’s report will not be posted online. Yearly report submitted. Motion to accept treasurer’s report by Alan Malone, seconded by John Barr. Motion passed.

Old Business: Wandy and Shelly are working to get a venue for the birthday dinner in Branson. Discussions with La Quinta and Grand Hotel in progress. $129 per night rate. No restaurant at La Quinta. Will try to get the Grand Hotel. Birthday dinner to be held April 10 and 11.

Will try to meet the 4th Saturday of every month with exception for special events.

Next meeting will be March 28 at Colton’s in Cabot at 12:00 pm.

May 30th will be a cookout at Lake Dardanelle. Barbara Wewers to call for pavilion

December 12th is the Base Christmas Party at AIMM.

Good of the Order: Fisher house information available.

Greg Zonner made motion to sponsor a bunk curtain for the USS Arkansas (SSN 800) at a cost of $1000,00. Seconded by Dave Higgins

John Barr researching ideas for Veteran’s Day donations.

Discussed NLR parade plan. Base is registered the St. Patrick’s day parade on March 14. Will send email reminder for volunteers.

Discussed designation of our magazine to USS Arkansas (SSN 800)
